Call the goodfellas the Mob Squad. Jay-Z, Young Jeezy and Trey Songz are getting ready to start the next leg of the BP3 tour and have adopted a nickname.
“The way Jay explained it to me, he wanted to give people the best show possible,” Songz told Mixtape Daily Thursday. “They could have easily done it by themselves and it’d be great. But [Jay] wanted to give the best show. All of us bring a separate aspect to the table, making it a great show all the way. I’m there for the ladies, of course. Then I bring an R&B soul vibe and my hip-hop. Jeezy got the streets. And Hov is Hov.
“You gotta be there because it’s action-packed from the jump,” the singer added.
As big a venture as the trio will have onstage, they just might be doing it big offstage as well. Songz said they may do at least one record together.
“It’s definitely all in the talks,” Trigger Trey admitted. “It’s the Mob Squad. Me, Jay, Jeezy, we plan on working together while we on this tour because the energy we have together when we get around each other is amazing. And like I said, all aspects like that on a record is amazing. Maybe while we out on the road we get it done.”
Songz will definitely be working on his new mixtape and putting it out soon.
“I been in the studio. The first thing I did when I got back in the studio was the Rihanna ‘Hard’ [remix]. I explain how I go hard. As far as music is concerned, the grind is concerned, as far as women are concerned, I go hard. Then I went in and got four or five great records. That’s actually four or five original records. I definitely want to release a mixtape to show people that [the skills] ain’t went nowhere.”

“Teddy, man,” Trey Songz said. “From ‘Wake up Everybody’ to ‘Turn Off the Lights,’ he made it possible in a lot of ways for guys like me. It’s only right we pay our respect to him. My mother might have been conceived to some Teddy. He is the heart and soul of the music I make today. Everybody has to go at some point. It’s God’s will that he’s gone, but we pay our respect and pay our condolences to his family and cherish the moments he did have here.”

Trey Songz had a banner 2009 and he’s continuing his reign in 2010 by touring with one of the biggest names in music, Jay-Z.
The R&B singer has joined the second leg of the rapper’s Blueprint 3 tour. He will be one of the opening acts when it kicks off in arenas across the U.S. starting February 20 at the Bank Atlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He is currently scheduled to perform on all 23 dates, wrapping March 27 at The Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas.
Young Jeezy was previously announced as a supporting act. Tour dates, including stops at New York City’s Madison Square Garden and Los Angeles’ Staples Center, can be found here.
Jay-Z’s latest album The Blueprint 3 was released in September on Atlantic Records, home to Songz.

When the curtain pulled back and the star looked in the faces of hundreds of teenagers shouting out his name, he could have been on any stage at any place in the country. But this time, it was different. The stage looked all too familiar, and even some of the people in the crowd looked familiar.
It was, in fact, very familiar. After the many stages, the many award shows, the many appearances on national and international programs and the millions of fans, the star had come back home to Petersburg.
For the first time in years, the star know as Trey Songz – who had skyrocketed to international fame and two Grammy nominations – had returned to where everything began. Back to the place where he could leave Trey Songz behind and just be Tremaine Aldon Neverson.
When Trey Songz gave a surprise concert at Petersburg High School two days before Thanksgiving last year, he didn’t try to hide his roots. He was proud to show them.
“I want to let you know, I am from this city,” he told the crowd in the packed auditorium. “Every time you see me on TV at some awards show or you hear me on the radio, I want you to remember that I am from this city,” he said. “Anything you see me do, you can do better. Nothing is impossible, and it all starts right here at home.”

East Rutherford, NJ, USA (AHN) – R&B singer Trey Songz set to perform during halftime festivities when the Cleveland Cavaliers visit the New Jersey Nets Saturday.
The Cavs, one of the best teams in the entire NBA, may be the biggest draw to the Izod Center this year as the Nets boast the worst record in the league.
A night watching LeBron James and Trey Songz might not be too bad for the distressed Nets fans, even coming off a surprising win over the Knicks.
Despite a promising young core, the Nets have not been in sync all season.
Coach Lawrence Frank took the fall for their record-setting 0-16 start.
Since then, Kiki Vandeweghe traded the front office for the team’s coaching ranks and the Nets improved to 3-13 over the same span.
The platinum selling Songz has released three albums in his short career.
This year, Trey Songz has furthered his popularity as he was featured on Drake’s “Successful”, one of 2009′s biggest singles.
The single landed at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 list, Songz’ second top 20 single of his career.
